how to install themes for KDE 3.1?


i download from this site
http://themes.freshmeat.net/browse/957/?topic_id=957
and i dont know how to install them,in the wizard they asked about
*.theme file,and i dont have it with the theme

how can i install it...

the .theme file is inside the tar.gz file that you downloaded. Just untar it using tar -xvzf xxx.tar.gz . Then you'll find the .theme file..
Also an easier method will be open the directory containing the tar.gz file in konqueror. Open the theme menu and just drag n drop the tarball into it.. KDE will untar

the file wasn't there...try to download one and see..
its not there,they said you need to compile it or something...

i don't anderstand much

I just downloaded the Plastic theme from kde-look.org. After uncompress it, I ran configure that came with it but it said that there was a configuration error. "Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!".

How am I supposed to fix that?

you have to install development libraries for X also to compile..
Get an rpm for Xfree86-devel and install it..

I managed to run the configure without problems and it said I can start make now. How do I do that?

I'm using Debian stable by the way.
