How to install kde

I thought my slak installer did it, but the X11 files are still *.gz!!! How do you install when the system is installed and the files are in folders/directories???

as root... installpkg packagename.tgz or if multiple packages, go the directory containing them and run pkgtool... You can then selectively choose which package to install.
