Unhappy How To Install Anything?

I am a total newbie. I am just wanting to find someplace on-line, that I can find a linux for stupid people site. I learned DOS pre-win days. Can't wrap my head around linux to good yet. I love to learn new things, but am to set in my ways with DOS junk. Any help is appriciated. Also, on DSL Forum, they said use 'mydsl' or "Synaptic". I don't have a modem for linux yet, so they don't work. Thanks

If you haven't already got a set of CDs, the easiest way is to buy a Linux book that comes with a CD or 2, or borrow a set from your local LUG (Linux User Group) if there is one. Try google.
You can also download ISOs from eg http://www.linuxiso.org/.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I am sorry for the stupid questions. The tutorial page will give me lots to read. I just have problems asking for help. I am the go-to guy for computers in my area. Microsoft has fried my brain. Thank you both for all your help & time. Next time I will be very specific with my questions. Thanks.
