How to insall software in Linux??

I intalled a VMware played and got pclinuxos on my vomp...but when i try to install a software i cant seem to find a installer for it...

Not sure if Firefox2.0 is in the PCLOS repo, if not download the tar package from Mozilla and follow their directions .

If you are using source file then look at the readme file or there should be a file called INSTALL.

most source files install by doing the following.

Code:

./configure 
make 
make install

you may also want to do ./configure --help as it will give you compile options.
