Can't find slackware CD on insall

Hi!

I'v tried to install Slackware on a second computer. The first one went just fine. I use the boot cd and create two partitions. One for swap and one for everything else. The settings are the same as on the machine with a successful install. When i'm done selecting the options and I'm asked from which source I wish to install I choose "auto". The problem is that the setup can't find a slackware-cd in my cdrom...

Anyone who knows what the problem is?

there was a thread about this recently. first try the hdparm -d0 /dev/hdc command (if hdc is your cdrom) before setup. if that doesn't work, post back.

Thanks for the tip there " synaptical " it came in very handy ;-) I was trying to install Slackware v10.0 with no success until I did a search for answers, and came across this forum "WOOO HOOO" Me a happy camper now ;-). I'm a virgin when it comes to any flavour of Linux. I'm what they call a GUI baby, but working on learning Linux the hardway by reading and reading and reading more........etc.... Once again thanks for the thread myfriend ;-)
