how to delete unwanted "media" content - ubuntu

In attempting to set up a Puppy install from a usb stick somehow I got the contents of that usb drive embedded in my Ubuntu 9.04 as "Places" > "8.0 GB Media". When I mount the "drive" it brings up "disk - File Browser" which I can open and see the Puppy folders, however, I cannot move them to Trash as that is a greyed out option. When I try to view each folder I get a "Could not display media/disk/pup... The file is of an unknown type". Being a newbie and after an extensive search for other examples of this I'm getting nowhere. I have a feeling this will involve Terminal commands which I'm not good at.
Thanks.

You can edit the bookmarks - but i don't know of a way to remove actual "Places" entries. Try opening a terminal window (Alt+F2), and entering "gedit ~/.gtk-bookmarks" (no quotes). Remove the entries that you don't want, and save the file.

Thanks and235100 but somehow the problem solved itself as the redundant "media" file/folder went away. I'd rather solve a problem than have it solve itself but, hey, it's taken care of.
