Question How to crop and pan a segment of a movie

I'm looking to crop and pan a segment of a movie, I can use avidemux to crop the segment I want, but I want to follow the object in the cropped area as it moves across the screen.

Shotcut can kind of do this but I found it too difficult.

Any suggestions folks?

It's called motion tracking.
A quick web search suggests that Kdenlive can do it as well.
