How to change your login theme in Gnome
Hello. I am a noob seeking help! 2 weeks ago I installed Debian onto my old pc that I thought had no life left in it. Surprisingly my system is up an running just fine. The windows OS would never work on it. As I learn each day I am faced with a new challenge, but right now I am stuck on changing the way my environment looks.
To my questions...I have Debian, using Gnome 2.8, and want to change my login manager (after seeing so many cool ones at art.gnome.org). I am really just completely lost. I've spent the last 4 hours trying to figure this one out. For a second I thought I needed gdm, but I think I only have xdm. What do I need to do to change login screens.
I figured out how to change the splash screen using the configuration editor (changing the path of the picture). However, the login screen is just plain dull. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
