How to add a picture to the login screen for users in Linux Mint - Maya
Hi,
I installed linux mint maya 13 on my laptop. During installation, when the installer prompted me to take a picture for my user, I just skipped it. Now, I would like to add a picture but for some reason I can't find where. I went to user settings but there is no option there. I also googled a solution and some guy suggested to put the picture I want on the /home/user folder and change the extension to .face but it did not work. Can you help?
Thanks!

Set your account picture under Linux Mint Maya
Its easy! - Take your picture and put it in some location you remember.
- In the "mintMenu", under "Preferences", go to "User Accounts". (You can also search for it)
- Unlock "User Accounts". There is a button on the top-right corner. Give your password.
- Click on the picture next to your name.
- Click on "Browse for more pictures ..."
- Select your picture at the location mentioned earlier.
You can also use one of the default pictures!

Hi,
I don't have user accounts option under preferences. I also searched for it but nothing came up. However, I do have 'Users and Groups' under Administration.

In that case I need some more information.
Which desktop environment are you using? ( Cinnamon, MATE, KDE, XFCE ... )

I am using MATE. I thought I posted it on the title but I didn't!
Thanks!

That's fine!
I do not use MATE, but found the solution here.
It seems you've to go to "System Settings" -> "Login Photo" (in the "Other" category).
That should be the easiest way to do it.
