how do install *.pkg files

hi, iīve downloaded package for openoffice with pkg extension. how can i install it?
there is an option in oo so i can add packages, but i have probably somehow to unpack it before. i tried installpkg but it didnīt work ..

If you've downloaded it from the OpenOffice.org website, they're should be instructions on how to install it.

no, itīs an unofficial one,
made during google summer of code,
the only info i could find was for windows installation

Download the installer from http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.2/index-nojs.html.
Then build Slackware packages out of it with the script at http://slackbuild.strangeworlds.co.uk/ooo/.
