how do i use yum install?


I tried the following but got the errors below,please help,what do i have to do? (I am using Fedora Core 9)


[root@localhost LUH]# http_proxy=196.24.0.5:3128
[root@localhost LUH]# export http_proxy
[root@localhost LUH]# yum install MPlayer 1.0 RC2
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/yum", line 28, in <module>
import yummain
File "/usr/share/yum-cli/yummain.py", line 30, in <module>
from yum import _
ImportError: cannot import name _

You might want to try yum list | more first. This will verify you can connect to a repository. Then you can review the list to see what is available from your repository.
