how do i locate terminal

Depending on the distro and the Window manager, it is usually on the menu under "Accessories," "Utilities," or "Utilities."

What distro are you using?

Also, please try to use your space bar. It makes reading posts much easier.

IN some distros,it is at "Sytem Tools",e.g.,fedora.
