help needed on getting console readable on mandrake 9.1

hi, after I installed mandrake 9.1, everything went fine, updates, nvidia driver installation...etc
but when I tried to work on the consoles (Alt+Ctrl+F1/2/3/..) I found the console unreadable, and the text is somehow duplicated/scrambled, any ideas how to fix that ??or at least if there is another thread in this huge forum discussed that matter before, please reffer me to it, I did a search and I couldn't find..

I managed to screw with my fonts when either converting windows ones over (via the MCC), or using the KDE Font installer. Try one of these and hopefully two wrongs make a right

I dont have any problems during X session, everything is just fine, all the consoles in X-KDE look great,
but my problem is with the console at Ctrl+Alt+F1 .. F2...
its a pitty I cant make a snapshot, as I said the problem is , for example to wacth it clearely, I run midnightcommander, but when I browse the text get shifted slightly to the right, as if I was working in 2 different layers of text !!
any ideas ?
*other question: how to overclock my gf2mx400 under linux ? and how to check whether FW is enabled ? how to turn off some other filters that slows down the performance of my card ?

Virtual Consoles unreadable

uh, I think I've got the same problem.

after installing suse 9.2, the virtual consoles (the ones that pop up when you press the function keys) are unreadable.
the text is splattered all over the screen, too large, on several layers, and BLINKS.

I didn't install anything additional programs.
I tried to change languages or fonts in the sysconfig files, but it didn't help.

I'm using athlonxp28+ 256ddr gf4mx440se.
is this an inevitable graphics card error?

thnx for any suggestions!
(did you others figure out a solution yet?)
