Red face Help need to install TV tunner card on Linux, UMax UTV TV tunner is not working.


I just purchase intex USB TV box to view TV in my laptop.Unfortunatlyit didnt work on my laptop than i replaced it from Vedor with UMax MTV 330 and try to install it from Driver CD that was packed with this box. But i am not able to install hardware completly .It show a small yellow mark in device, and reflect an error message with error code 10 "Can not start this Hardware. I tried to install from add hardware wizard then it Windows cannot find better hardware than already install (ofcourse i am provide cd drive path in Have disk option). I tried the same with downloading driver from umaxindia.com but no result. However this TV tuner work fine on another Laptop . My Latop is HP compaq Pressario 2100 series.
Can anyone help me to install driver for windows Xp .
I have Latest Ubantu 10.10 also (Daul Boot0.
Can any one please help me to install it on Ubantu or any other light weight Linux distro (that can run on P4 .2.0 Ghz /512 MB).
Your support will be highly appriciated.

@Prasant ,
Hi,
I have tried in my Ubantu 10.10 (beta )and its not working,as mentioned in your blog.
how could i know chipset of my TV box, as it is brand new(UMax UTV 330 ) and chipset is not listed anywhere on box, cover or manual.

post the output of lshal and dmesg | grep -i 'tv' lspci | grep -i 'tv' here.

I Have formatted my system to Ubantu 10.10 now and install Mythtv. But i am not able to configure TV card. My TV tuner card in manufactured by gadmei Technololgy ( Umax UTV 200, USB card ). Can anybody guide me. As i am selecting watch TV it is displayng message something like as Mythtv is listening to all input but no connection for recording .Please Help.
