Well, I had that card for a while, and never got it to work under PCLinuxOS, Fedora, Xandros, Ubuntu, and a couple others (Google turns up a ton of info on this card and Linux). Seems some have success, others don't. If I recall correctly, it was because there were several different "versions" of that card released. A couple versions worked, a couple did not. I unfortunately had one that did not.

I ended up getting frustrated, and bought a new card after searching for cards that were confirmed to work. It required a little configuring(but a couple websites detailed it well), and I ended up with a Hauppauge WinTV-Go-Plus model 1033.

I like it a lot, and it was pretty cheap.

Here's an old post I made in the Blag forum :

Well, my friends, I finally made it !

I am now watching TV in my Blag desktop, on my media box. You might remember I wrote in the past that only Mandriva/PCLinuxOS would allow me to do so, well, this was just a lack of knoledge from me...

Maybe there are other users who could use this little how-to, so here it goes :

How to set up my Lifeview Flyvideo 2000 in Linux :

Add this line :
options saa7134 card=3 gbuffers=4
into:
/etc/modprobe.conf

Add this line :
Load “v4l”
into :
/etc/X11/xorg.conf

reboot

Verify, by typing “dmesg” in console.

Infos :
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...light=lifeview

http://www.linuxchile.cl/docs.php?op...on&doc=42&id=1

Afterwards, install TVTime (or XawTV, or KDETV, or Zapping...), and use it !

Disclaimer : please keep in mind that I use NTSC, with US-cable, and this setup works in Dominican Republic, so one might have to tweak that a bit...
