Hi there everyone. I am new to linux and a relatively new network engineer. I worked in Hospitality and sales for 25 years then jumped into a mid-senior network engineering role in 6 months. I started studying CEH and when I realized that most if not all things ethical hacking are linux based, I decided to learn it too, along with Python and Bash Scripting. I promise that I WILL be back to ask questions at a later date, and thank everyone in advance for your help.
I worked in Hospitality and Accounting for 11 years before switching careers to IT. Back in the early days most of the systems were manual so I was there as more an more stuff became automated. That allowed me to see the changes as well as understand the underlying processes that many people these days don't. It used to amuse me when people would say "The computer is down - we can't do anything!". I'd always ask if they thought there were no hotels before the 80s.
