GUI wont load in Peppermint 11. This is new issue after 3 weeks of us.

This is a new issue after 3 weeks of use. Loads to the shell with this:

"Peppermint OS GNU/Linux jerry-inspiron3847 tty1"

I can log on but don't know what to do after that. I'm somewhat familiar to the shell but need clear instruction.

Have you looked at the log files? They should provide some hint as to what is going wrong.

I'd start with /var/log/Xorg.0.org.
