Question Grub loader 1.5 problems

Hi I'm asking this for my brother because he recently formatted his computer to install linux. Then he found linux wasn't for him, when he installed linux however. He choose to install the grub loader and now when he tries to uninstall linux. He's still left with the grub loader which he can't seem to get off. We tried the linux Cd and a boot disk to format. But the linux Cd will only let him reinstall everything. The win 98 boot disk I use to format wont load because of the grub loader. Any ideas?

Thanks for your time and help!!!

You can use the 98 fdisk command to remove the bootloader.
fdisk /mbr

fdisk is on the 98 boot disk.
