Grub Boot Loader questions

I am currently using the Grub Boot loader to either select Windows XP Pro or Red Hat 8. The thing I would like to fix is every time that I update I get the new kthe Red Hat kernel ernel listed in my boot loader (which is the new update) and the old kernel is still there. I would like to know how to change my boot loader so I have only the new kernel and my windows xp listed in my boot loader. I do not know how to remove these other kernels listed. Could anyone please help me with this.

Thanks

just remove the relevant set of entries in /boot/grub/grub.conf (or menu.lst on some systems)
