Getting VLC to work on open SuSE


hey everone, im new and posted a link [mod_edit]URL removed[/mod_edit] to see if anone would be able to solve my problem.. nobody seemed to get back to me.. can someone please help?

Where did you look on your pc? Did you try Alt+F2 and then "vlc" (without quotes)? If you are unsure what repositories to install, read: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html

Normally, YaST only tells you it is successful, when it actually is. Maybe you did not look in the right folders...

Just type vlc at the prompt surely????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

$ vlc --help

hey buddy! I just installed VLC on my 2 OpenSuse boxes and it worked fine. I downloaded the file from the same source you used. I recommend to try to select the repositories that make sense if there is an error it would def come up.

give it a shot and see what happens.
