I want to create the following symlink for mplayer>

ln -s /path/to/samplefont.ttf ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf

The mplayer docs tell me to install freetype fonts, but only freetype2 fonts are installed so I want to try if they work instead. Where are they installed???
