FreeNAS - is it good? Either that or I will use samba on ubuntu (win 5 users)

Wondering if I should give freenas a look or setup samba on ubuntu

FreeNAS supports samba, so that is generally up to you what you want to do. If in doubt, check out both of them...

Use FreeNAS

Its simple to set up, and has a wonderful interface for managing everything.

If you want to share resources then use SAMBA. Samba allows your Linux machine to communicate with your Windows network to share files, resources, and printers.
