FC3 on VMWare for Windows

I can't seem to get FC3 to completely boot in VMWare for Windows. Install seems to go fine-- I get a notice of successful install. Initial startup seems to go fine, too, but near the end, it freezes up on a plain gray screen. Restarting doesn't help. As a matter of fact, startup graphics get strange on restart. I'm wondering if something as simple as choosing 800x600 res instead of 640x480 res might be enough to cause such an error. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I'm installing RH9 now to see if it will do the same thing. A good friend suggested FC3 might actually be a little too new for VMWare.

on boot up, exit out of GUI screen to show detail. you should then be able to locate the file that is erroring out. Boot to linux S and disable all error files
