VMware 4.5.2 on Windows

I am running VMWare on Windows XP SP2 and would like to know what are good reliable distros to run as a guest OS. I have tried out Slackware, Fedora, FreeBSD and NetBSD installed directly on a machine, this is my first time to install it as a guest OS.

DOes anyone have any good experiences with VMWare? RedHat is supported by VMWare, but I would prefer to use a distro with newer packages than redhat 9. I love using Slackware. THat is what I would like to use most of all, but it doesn't seem to be expressly supported.

I generally use VMware on a linux host, but I've done it the other way too. SusE and Slack both installed fine for me and I was using 4.5.2. I think I was only at service pack 1 though
