ext3 filesystem repair: partition table munched.
Ive had the partition table munched on a drive with an ext3 partition on it .
Once I realized that this had happened, I restored the partition with fdisk (full span of the drive, type 83 linux). Unfortunately, mount now says, "what filesystem?". fsck.ext3 does not fix the filesytem (even with -b and alternative superblock locations). The drive has not been formated, so I know the data is out there, I just need to get it to the point where I can mount and dump the data off of it.
any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
