Error message trying to rebuild a rpm package

Hello,

When trying to rebuild a rpm driver package i get the error

"could not find linux directory. Please link it with /usr/src/linux"

Could anybody shed any light on what this means / how to fix it?

Thanks

I've managed to find a solution. That is to install all the source code of the kernel.

What source code could I be missing and where can i find it?
Should this be shipped with the mandrake release?
If so how do I install it?

Sorry for all the simple questions.

Be sure you use a 170mb kernel source, because I used a 40mb or so and didn't work. Get it from one of the mirrors on the mandrake page. The directory is something like pub/9.2/Mandrake/RPMS and the file should be for the kernel 2.4.22-26mdk and contains src in the file name.

Are you sure there's a 170meg kernel mate?

I've seen a kernel-source2.4.22-26mdk.rpm file. Its only a few meg bigger though. 40meg with the other kernels being about 37.

Have i piked up the wrong end of the stick here?

I've managed to sort this. Just incase anyone is interested it was the kernel-source.x....rpm file that installed 170 mb of files with it.

After that that drivers installed fine.

Cheers for the help redeye.
