editing a makefile

Hello all,

If I edit a makefile do I have to compile it or can I just save it?

Thanks in advance!

ummm... depends?

if its the actual makefile then just save it (it is just a instruction set for make)

if its one of those pre make files (the one you pass to auto make, then pass that to auto configure) then yes you should "compile" it
