editing makefile

I downloaded mod_auth_mysql-3.2 and im now going through the instalation instructions--
megalinux.net/archives/000015.html . The problem is on the 4th instruction 4) Edit the Makefile to suit your requirement. Edit the APXS and OPTS values. Problem is I can't find the apxs binary anywhere on my computer (os mandrake 9.1) I've run a search and it did'nt come up with anything, Can someone pls suggest where this file could be, or can/should i make one and where?

You might need to rebuild Apache, as apxs is the tool Apache uses to build DSOs. Unless you want to compile the module directly into httpd (which actually might not be a bad idea), you need apxs.

Before you go about this, though, did you search the entire filesystem for apxs?
