Question dual boot on a efi system


hey guys
i have a system with windows 8 installed and want to install ubuntu along with it
i have done this on old system tht shipped with BIOS but have no experience as such on how its done with efi systems

simple guidance in the right direction would be much appreciated

thanks in advance

Ubuntu should boot right up in EFI mode as debian Jessie does & I believe that Ubuntu paid for the Secure Boot keys also.
So you should be fine. If ubuntu doesn't boot right away disable Secure Boot.

What exactly is the difference between BIOS systems and efi systems..i havent quite got a hold of that..
what is role of that efi partition..!!
