dots coming while playing video


hi all,..

am using mandriva 2007.
when i play any file with the media players available , am getting array of dots along with the picture....

pls help me to get out of this prob

What are the dots like?

are the static and across the screen?

If so, could be some dodgy RAM in your graphics card.

might be a faulty grphisc card tehre,

does it do the same thing if you boot using a live cd then try and play media?

unfortuatly it apears that the problem is caused by faulty hardware...

try using a differnt screen

if the problem is still there its most likly the graphics card,
