Do I want cannonical updates for anything?

I just clean installed Xubuntu 18.04LTS and exploring I found these Cannonical updates. Do I need to check these boxes? What would be the benefit/downside of doing so? Thanks.

This article from Ubuntu may help you decide. It explains what "canonical partners" means.

https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubunt...ources.html.en

I would expect that you likely won't need those repos.

Thanks Frank. So I can just check those boxes down the road should I need them, right?

I don't have any way to test that, but I would be floored if that were not the case.
