I have a built-in sound card and a Sound Blaster Live! sound card. I need to use the Sound Blaster Live! card and not the built in Via sound card. Is there a way that I can make Linux forget that the built-in card exists? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can. I think you can do it in HardDrake, but I don't know how...You can also do it using configuration files. The one that's interesting is /etc/modules (open it into an editor, as root). Could you paste the file?
