/dev/dsp is missing

Following a tutorial on getting Teamspeak and ET working together with OSS i did the commands:

ln -sf /dev/sound/dsp /dev/dsp1
ln -sf /dev/sound/dsp1 /dev/dsp

Now i have no sound. and programs say that /dev/dsp cannot be found.

Any help appreciated

Does the f in -sf remove /dev/dsp ?? It 'removes existing destination files' according to the manual.

are you actually using OSS? ALSA, OSS's replacement does not use /dev/dsp entries....

but you are not doing what you are telling us you're doing. that error message is not possible as you have /dev/dsp as the target, in which context it's existance is irrelevant.
