Thing is I got nothing to say. Still am, but wanted to give some feedback, and of course, thank you all for the time invested in helping me with my noobiness and teaching me how to auscultate the disk!
Guys in charge of the machine we've been talking about are scratching their heads. Apparently there is a thing with the /var growing so much and the overlays and such.

I would say you've had enough from me for the time being. Dunno if you 'close' the thread, or if we can call it 'solved', but as far as I reckon, I'm more than thankful and plenty of new disk-space-knowledge.

Regards!
Probably they need to learn how to configure docker to avoid the overload of space.

Maybe also learn to carefully clean the space used as cache when apt is used for updates.

If I recall correctly that was the 2 things that used an enormous amount of space in /var.

Thanks for the update, and you can if you wish mark this thread solved. See my sig.

Hey! Thanks again!
I'll follow the steps in your signature.
In regard to the ncdu, although I cannot install stuff in the server we've been talking about, I find it wonderfull. I've seen it in some blogs and tried it in my own box. Realy like using the terminal and its "graphical" applications. I also use 'nc', which reminds me of the old DOS days and prior windows domination.
Oh! And I always run 'apt autoremove' after 'apt upgrade'! =D

Keep up doing Good!
Thanks!
