Question Dongle Mess

Thanks Tinkster for your help, and I did like the statement about helping people figure things out for themselves. I appreciate all the help and please don't think I am asking for instruction to avoid using my mind, but what do you mean about using "Isusb" and "dmesg"?

Shawna88, this program you have, does it run on Windows? I suspect so.

This forum is for a different OS, in general called linux. You may know all of this but I have to ask.

Linux has commands like the old dos does. It is a text way to run commands. Two of the commands in linux that were mentioned are a way to show information.

If you are with us so far and you have a linux system then maybe we can move on to how to use those commands.

Irrespective of all that's been said here previously I am closing the thread.

I believe that while help was being given in good faith trying to copy a dongle
is illegal, irrespective of ownership.

Cheers,
Tink
