hi there:

i am trying to set up my printer with my gentoo box following this doc:

everything seems to went well. got cupsd started and can browse printer at "http://localhost:631/printers/", printer is installed at /dev/usb/lp0.

however, when i tried to print something, i got:

I [16/Mar/2005:11:54:55 +0000] Adding end banner page "none" to job 3.
I [16/Mar/2005:11:54:55 +0000] Job 3 queued on 'Epson' by ''.
I [16/Mar/2005:11:54:55 +0000] Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb (PID 23

in /var/log/cups/error_log

and the printer just sits there not printing

argh, got it working now. i had to:

1. go to http://localhost:631/printers
2. then add a new printer
3. then specify the location "/dev/usb/lp0", where i did not have previously

it works now

cheers
