CUPS and hpoj running at the same time?
I am new to Linux, but not new to Unix-like OSes. I just installed RH9 at home. I have an HP LaserJet 3300mfp connected on the parallel port. After some research and some running around, I was able to get the printer both printing through CUPS and scanning with SANE/hpoj.
It seems, though, that hpoj and CUPS can't be running at the same time, otherwise they each find the printer port busy and I can't scan or print.
I leave the machine running CUPS, and when I want to scan I stop CUPS and start hpoj. When I'm done I go back to running CUPS.
Is this the way it's supposed to work?
Thanks for any help!
