Creating shortcuts

I am a new Linux user, I am running Mandriva I have installed a few programs and I was wondering if there was a way to create shortcuts to porgrams from the desktop instead of launching them from the konsole. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to LQ Right click the desktop and click "Create New" --> "Link to Application". You will have to write the details in manually, but it's just as easy as doing it via the konsole.
