Creating New Environment variable


Hello All,

I'm New to Linux

Can anyone tell me how to create new env variable in Linux ?

Secondly ,

How to export new variable from child to parent shell?

Add the variable to /etc/environment for permanant env variables, or add an export command to a specific user's profile. export VARIABLE=contents will export to your current enviornment. You cannot export a variable to parent shell.
