well on second thought...i think that would be ok if you are just loking up the answer and giving it to them....just change the wording (i.e. dont tyoe exactly what the book says).

Well, because I think it will be useful. There is no service like this and I think people would like to have one.

The book I will use is very known here and people would know I am using it anyway. It is very expensive. A consultation service, even if people would pay some fee, would be better than buy it for a simple consultation about a family name.

do you have popular site? i would say thats fine. and even if you start to make money this book is just a tool you use for research. like a writer uses a dictionary.

Yes, I use Linux. My site is a small site, I am building it myself. There is not any site like this in portuguese, for brazilian families. Which words did you google?

Thanks.

It is not ready yet. Do you have a site about genealogy?

Do you mean, if I don't make an explicit citation of the book, it is better? Why? Do I need to pay copyright for reading a book? If I reproduce some part by a xerox process or something like that, I can understand.

well its just the fact that you cant use word for word what they say, it really no different making a photo copy in legal terms. no i dont have a site about that. and really, you do pay for reading the book, you buy the book. if you go to a library and check it out you pay there too.
