Configuring Grub

OK, I am a complete NEWBIE to linux. I recently installed SuSE 9 over an FTP. Now that i did all that, did all my partitions etc, it was to my surprise that windows was not a choice on the grub boot menu. Now I know my winodws partition still exists, i took every precaution to make sure it would not be touched by the SuSE installer. My question is how would I add windows xp to the grub boot selector, please try to talk in a way that owuld be easy for me to understand, I AM A COMPLETE NEWBIE...thanks for the help...:-)

"how would I add windows xp to the grub boot selector"
I think that in SuSE the grub configuration file is /boot/grub/menu.lst So you need to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and add Windows to the list of bootable OSs.

How to configure menu.lst to add Windows to the boot menu is explained in the Configuration section of this grub manual:

http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html

As a alternative you probably can use YaST2 to configure grub. Here is SuSE's explanation on how to do that:
