There is an optional package for SUSE that installs sar, which is a handy tool for statistical aggregation on any number of system functions.(I/O transfer rates, iopts, paging activity, network activity, swap space utilization, CPU utilization, etc) it sounds generally like what you might be looking for.
More specific information (queue depth/command queuing) are controlled by the distro through setting in /sys or /proc (depending on the distro).
