Provide complete information, so you can get help. You don't say what version/distro of Linux you're using, or anything about your hardware or webcam. There are several webcam utilities for Linux, several come with most versions of Linux now; a quick Google search will turn up several names, and how-to guides on how to set up a webcam. Have you looked?
