changing "computer'" menu on open suse 11.1

I just installed open suse 11.1 and am having some problems.

a. I accidentally did "something"? to my computer menu prompt. Now when it opens, it is taller than the screen. How do I reset it to normal size, please?

b. When I minimize an application, it just shuts down instead of appearing on the bottom bar. Any ideas, please?
