Chakra OS still loads Live USB after files have been removed.

Hi,
I'm pretty new to linux, and have just tried Chakra OS and hated it. I wanted to move to Xubuntu, so I've formatted the drive and have used Unetbootin to burn the iso file to my USB. But when I try to load the OS from my USB, Chakra comes up with it's Live USB install options. I've tried formatting multiple times but it still loads. There are no files on the drive, no hidden files either. Any idea on why this is happening?

Thanks.

Hi & welcome to LQ.
Have you set the boot priority in your BIOS/UEFI so that USB heads the list?

Actually, I select the boot method at startup (Asus screen, Esc to open Popup menu, Select boot device)

By the Chakra screen, I mean the Live options screen that was actually located on the USB and not the booting up screen on my system.

I suspect that you simply removed files and didn't remove the boot loader like syslinux or grub. (dunno, just guessing)

Not sure what would be most simple but I might be tempted to use a partition editor and remove all partitions. Then make one or more to return this usb to normal.
