Live DVD loads completly on one Intel computer but not another

A live LinuxMint-17 loads completely on an Intel-i3 based HP Probook 4540s and can be installed normally. The same LM-17 live DVD loads on my Polywell Intel based 12 volt computer loads normally until near the end when it stops. The Icon at the upper left of the screen, as well as the service tray, are not loaded so LM-17 cannot be installed. By contrast, a live DVD of LM-15 loads completely on both machines and can be installed to operate normally.

DVD ownloads of LM-17, (or 17.1) from 3 different sources all behave the same way. Both computers are using similar Hitachi HDs and Intel CMOS.

My objective is to upgrade LM-15 on my Polywell unit to LM-17.1 and neither apt-get nor the Synaptic will do it.

Does anyone know, or can suggest, how to overcome this problem? Thanks.

Compare the specs on the two machines to see any significant differences, especially speeds, resolution, graphics capabilities. Something about that Polywell is being exceeded.

I just tried to post Solved but I cannot find it. In short, my Polywell / partition had basically filled up. Dumping programs restored capacity for the LM-17.

Many thanks for your suggestions. George
