hi
i'm using mandriva spring powerpack on a samsung n210. after the installation the screen went fuzzy. i logged on as root, and did XFdrake selected xorg vesa and nv but i still get the same issue. the screen res is at 1024x600. can anyone recommend an alternative xserver. the free version worked fine, i just don't know what it uses
cheers

Hi, do you get an error message on the screen?

If so, can you post it here please.

Regards Glenn

no i don't get a message because the screen goes all fuzzy and at that point i think it goes to the login screen but i cannot see. this is what i do. login failsafe, login as root, XFdrake, select Xorg vesa, resolution 1024x600 (i even tried lower res) the thing is that when i used the free version on a similar netbook it worked ok. should i throw the towel and stick with the free stuff? help would be appreciated though

ok, could you try the key combo to change the resolution/freq

ctrl alt NUMPAD+ (increase freq) And wait to see any change, wait 1 second or two.

ctrl alt NUMPAD- (decrease freq)

I don't think it has anything to do with free sortware or Powerpack.

By the way, do you have paid support with your Powerpack, Mandriva may have the answer already.
