can re-install grub without re-installing linux?

Hi,
is there anyway i can re-install grub boot loader without re-installing linux? I recently installed Windows 7 and i can't boot into Ubuntu. I found many threads about restoring grub after re-installing Windows XP, but that's not what i'm looking for (since i installed Windows 7 instead of XP, the old grub will be useless, i think).
Thanks.

The instructions for XP will also apply to 7.

gabriel.560,

Yes you can, as long as you can take hold of your hard drive.

You may use your live CD installer and install grub into the root and MBR partitions using grub command. Since we do not know of your current hardisk map I cannot give any further details of command sequence. However, it is more helpful to you if you 'd become more familiar with the solution by reading a short but good tutorial for grub, read it here. I assure you, you will control grub after reading it.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Download Super Grub Disk. It will do it for you automatically.

Thank you all for your help! i used Super Grub to boot into Linux, and gave the commands mentioned in the video. It's working.

Thanks again.
