problem installing elive - will not install Grub

I have just re-installed elive onto my system but this time it does not install grub.

I want the system to detect the other OSs that I have in my machine and I would like grub installed on the MBR.

How can I do this. I am sure the there is an elive distro on my hdd but everytime I reboot the system boots straight into XP. the only way that I can get into Linux is via a live CD.

I can see all the elive files on the hdd with the live distro.

Many thanks.
