can only access linux box from within network

I'm having trouble with my slackware 10 linux box which acts as a router for the rest of my network (2 NICs). All of the services on it work perfectly from my other computer (xp home) on the network but i can't access anything from outside of it- http doesnt work, i can't send email from the network. I can access websites and aim and such. I'm using the simple firewall configuration rc.firewall-2.4 script that comes with the ip-masquerade howto. If it means anything, when i try to use the more secure version (rc.firewall-2.4-stronger), i get the error message:

Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
/usr/sbin/nmbd -D
Starting gpm: /usr/sbin/gpm -m /dev/mouse -t imps2
Starting Network...
SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument
IPv4 forwarding initialized.
usage /etc/rc.d/rc.ip_forward start|stop|restart
Loading the firewall ruleset...
: bad interpreter: No such file or directory/bin/sh

and nothing starts.

Is this a firewall configuration problem? It looks like the ports are open:

output of nmap

nmap localhost

I'm not sure if these problems are related or not. Thanks for any help you can give!

I can be very wrong, but isn't this line saying that /bin/sh isn't the right path to bash?

: bad interpreter: No such file or directory/bin/sh
